Why this page matters

A corrections page is part of the product, not a legal afterthought.

Readers need a visible route for factual fixes, credit corrections, sourcing concerns, and material updates. A trustworthy publication does not act embarrassed that corrections exist. It shows where to send them, how they are reviewed, and how the public record changes once a correction is confirmed.

A live correction route is more useful than a vague promise to contact the newsroom.
Visible correction practice tells readers the site expects scrutiny.
The absence of fake log entries matters as much as the presence of real ones.

Request a correction

Send the page, the issue, and the supporting source.

A useful correction request identifies the CultureUp page, the exact claim or media item, the proposed correction, and the source that supports the change. Private information should not be submitted through public fields.

Include the article title, URL, section, and relevant quote or caption.
Provide the corrected spelling, date, attribution, link, or source context.
Use the Contact page or source suggestions route for source-correction notes.

Review and log

Corrections should explain what changed.

When CultureUp identifies a factual error, the update should be reflected on the article and recorded in a correction or update note. The site should distinguish factual corrections from routine edits, formatting fixes, and new context.

Corrections should be dated and written plainly.
Updated articles should keep an updated date visible.
The corrections log is empty until real corrections exist.

What counts

Not every edit belongs in the public log, but every material fix should be traceable.

CultureUp should distinguish between substantive factual corrections and ordinary maintenance edits. Spelling fixes that do not change meaning, layout repairs, and minor formatting changes usually do not need a public correction note. Wrong names, wrong dates, wrong captions, wrong credits, wrong source descriptions, and meaning-changing omissions do.

A wrong caption or credit line is not a minor cosmetic issue.
Source-description errors can change how a reader interprets the evidence.
When a correction changes the meaning of a passage, the article update should be visible where the reader is reading.
