Editorial

Send the story with the context that makes it legible.

The best CultureUp pitch names the person, place, object, event, or record at the center of the story, then explains why it matters now and what sources can support it.

  • Include names, dates, locations, and any known source holders.
  • Flag whether the material is public, private, uncertain, or rights-sensitive.
  • Name related people, places, media, or records that should be connected.

Credits and corrections

Source updates should be easy to route.

A correction, permission, privacy, or credit note should identify the page, the line or media item involved, the suggested change or concern, and the source or context that supports review.

  • Use page title and section context when referencing an issue.
  • Provide the corrected credit, date, spelling, or attribution.
  • Share enough source detail for review without exposing private material publicly.

Helpful details

  • Short title required.
  • Reference link recommended when available.
  • Organization optional.
  • Context guide: at least 80 characters helps the team route the note.

Quality rules

  • Name the central person, place, object, event, or record.
  • Explain why the story matters now.
  • Include the strongest available source link or record path first.
  • Flag rights-sensitive or privacy-sensitive material early.

Common blockers

  • Do not send unsupported allegations about real people.
  • Do not use this lane for media-rights fixes that belong in media credit review.

Sensitive content guardrails

  • Do not include private addresses, private phone numbers, private emails, medical details, financial details, or identity documents.
  • Do not submit accusations about living people without public source context.
  • Do not upload or link copyrighted media unless you own it, have permission, or are referencing an official public source.
