Information readers provide voluntarily
CultureUp receives information only when a reader chooses to send it through contact, corrections, source suggestions, media credit requests, permissions questions, community context, privacy concerns, or related editorial contact routes.
- Readers should not send private family, genetic, lineage, medical, financial, or sensitive personal information unless CultureUp specifically asks for it through a safe review process.
- Contact and correction notes may include a name, email address, message text, source links, media-rights context, and other information the reader chooses to provide.
- CultureUp uses submitted information to review corrections, source suggestions, permissions, media credits, privacy concerns, and editorial contact.
- CultureUp does not sell private contact submissions to sponsors or advertisers.
- Voluntary contact records are retained only as long as needed for editorial review, correction history, permissions, legal obligations, or abuse prevention.
Server logs, browser storage, and cookies
Like most hosted sites, CultureUp and its infrastructure providers may process server logs and basic technical signals needed to deliver pages, protect the service, troubleshoot errors, and understand aggregate traffic.
- Server logs may include IP address, requested URL, browser or device signals, referrer, timestamp, and error or security information.
- Saved-reading features may store preferences in the reader's browser local storage.
- CultureUp may use necessary cookies or browser storage for site operation, security, analytics, and reader tools.
- Do not submit private records or unpublished family evidence through public forms or browser storage.
Analytics
CultureUp uses Google Analytics 4 for aggregate site measurement and review of page traffic, referrers, and reader-path performance. Analytics is used to improve the site and diagnose visibility problems, not to certify private identity or lineage claims.
- Google Analytics 4 is configured with public measurement ID G-M0PNZYM3B4 for aggregate page and CTA measurement.
- Analytics may process page URL, approximate geography, browser and device signals, referrer, and configured events under Google's service terms.
- CultureUp does not add sponsor trackers, remarketing pixels, or third-party identity graphs.
- CultureUp does not use analytics for hidden reader profiling for sponsors.
- Data Advantage and sponsor-facing reports exclude personal reader identities; any sponsor-facing insight must use aggregated cultural-lane information and remain privacy safe.
- Noindex workflow pages and internal review surfaces are not treated as sponsor reporting surfaces.
Advertising and Google AdSense
CultureUp is preparing for Google AdSense review. Display ad placements and the advertising partner script are disabled until approval and placement review. Required site-connection or verification code may be present if needed for review, but empty public ad boxes are not part of the reader experience.

- Ads and sponsors do not control editorial conclusions, source selection, memory classification, corrections, claim status, or public evidence standards.
Embedded content, children, updates, and contact
CultureUp pages may link to archives, museums, government records, social platforms, media sources, and other third-party sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices. CultureUp updates this policy when material data practices change.
- Third-party links can send readers to external sites with different privacy rules.
- CultureUp is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through public forms.
- If a reader believes a child sent personal information to CultureUp, they should use the Contact page so the record can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.
- Policy updates should be dated and should describe material changes plainly.
