Editor desk

Run the preflight before anything becomes public.

This workflow keeps editorial review, source safety, and social-preview metadata visible before CultureUp turns notes, corrections, or contributor material into public pages.

Intake review

Confirm the note is complete enough for a human editor to route without guessing.

  • Content label selected: News, Analysis, Opinion, Explainer, Interview, Feature, Community Story, Media, Watch, Listen, Developing, or Correction.
  • Category selected: News, Culture, Stories, Media, Science & Technology, Politics, World, Community, or Opinion / Analysis.
  • Author, contact route, source links, dates, and rights notes are present or clearly marked for follow-up.
  • Facebook discussion link is only included when the official URL or post is verified.

Source and safety review

Keep unsupported claims, privacy issues, and rights problems out of public pages.

  • Reported claims have sources or attribution.
  • Opinion and analysis are labeled before they can be mistaken for reported fact.
  • Political, legal, medical, financial, or public-safety claims are escalated for review.
  • Private information, minors, copyrighted media, and unsupported claims about real people are removed or held.

Publishing metadata

Make the future CMS handoff easy by checking metadata before a story goes live.

  • SEO title, meta description, canonical URL, and content label are written.
  • Open Graph image, alt text, credit, and rights status are approved.
  • Noindex stays on draft/demo material until real content is approved.
  • Pilot stories stay out of sitemap, Explore, Source Index, homepage shelves, and category rails until owner approval.
  • Correction link, related links, source list, and updated date are visible.
